Tap your contactless card once on the blue validators when you board Luxembourg City buses. Rides are free. Still validate.
Common Scams to Avoid
Unlicensed 'taxi' touts inside or just outside the terminal may quote flat, inflated fares to the city center and refuse to use the meter. Decline any unsolicited ride offer, walk to the official taxi rank where cabs must use the meter, or pre-book via the airport's recommended ride-hailing widget.
Some metered taxis add unexplained surcharges (luggage, night rate, or 'airport fee') that exceed the regulated extras. Ask the driver to explain each extra on the receipt and compare with the official tariff card displayed in the vehicle. If in doubt, note the taxi number and file a complaint with the Luxembourg Transport Authority.
Currency-exchange kiosks in the arrivals area advertise 'no commission' but bury a poor rate in the fine print, giving noticeably fewer euros for major currencies. Compare the offered rate against the mid-market rate on your phone and, if it's worse than a few percent off, wait to withdraw euros from an airport ATM or exchange downtown where competition is keener.
